Weight loss tip… Eat more!!!

Okay, as my readers know, I have been recently trying to add more “good for you” food’s to my meal planning. Within the past month, I have done pretty well. After doing a little bit of research online, I found some useful info on fruit’s… Why eat them aside from the fact that they are sweet and taste great? Each of these powerful food’s are loaded with vitamin’s and cancer fighting antioxidants. They are also packed with potassium, which not only helps with blood pressure but stop’s your body from retaining water weight. Eat them frozen, cold or even cooked!!! With food’s like this, why even grab that brownie? No need, thank you!!!

The Banana is my fav fruit! One of the highest in calories(about 180 for a large one), but with all that fiber and about 450 mg of potassium… I can handle that. Plantain’s are great for cooking… try my plantain lasagna, posted on my profile… delicious!

Grapes are amazing!!! Thirty grapes, only 100 calories? I’ll take that!

I shouldn’t have to mention apple’s. With several varieties and taste’s, all averaging 80 calories each, need I say more? I will anyway. The soluble fiber in the skin slow’s down carbohydrate absorption… Yeah baby! Like all other fruit’s, it expands in your stomach, making you feel full for a lot longer than you normally would.

Oh, the Orange,  how sweet, taste wise and emotionally! I will try to sum this up as much as possible. Of course, vitamin C is a dead give away, but aside from that, one of it’s 150 different phytochemicals is called “polyphenol”. Polyphenol play’s a vital role in your memory and brain’s function’s. Flavanones help decrease inflamation, but is found in the inner white area of the pulp. Tangerines have only 1/3 the vitamin C, but 3 times the amount of cancer fighting vitamin A.

Last but not least on my favorite fruit’s list is the winner in nutrients… The Apricot. Unlike most fruits, this one is loaded with Betacarotene. What does that mean? It means prevention of cancer, cataracts and heart desease. Great…

Okay, we all know how good veggies are but people slack off on fruit’s…Why settle? Eat more!!! As an example, for breakfast, on the side of your cereal or toast, have a banana. It is fat free. For dinner, make a side of plantain. Mid-afternoon craving? How about 32 grapes? Sounds like alot huh? It is! But it’s only 100 calories! OMG!

Today’s meal’s;

Bkfst: Whole grain toast w/fat free cheese (2 sandwiches,220 cal)

Snack: 15 grapes and a banana (appx 220 cal)

Lunch: Broccoli, canned chicken, cooked in garlic cloves and so good! (140 cal)

Dinner: Not sure yet..lol. Something healthy.

Calories remaining to eat (out of 1200); 620!!! Whoa!

See what I mean, I feel like I ate like a pig today but I still have almost half of my daily intake to go!

You can do it too… We all have slip up’s, it is in our nature. Don’t get angry. Get even with yourself…

    You have a great plan there. I agree 100%. I increased my caloric intake from 1200 to 1500 due to my exercise level and I feel much better. I remember eating 1200 and would sometimes have fainting spells.
